I Know What I Know…
There are millions of different ways to be in the world.
I am — and always have been, for as long as I can remember — one of those people who is differently gifted, which is to say, that for as long as I can remember I have seen things and heard things and known things and experienced things that the vast majority of people do not. I was probably somewhere between five and seven years of age when what I am going to call “tree spirits” taught me how to feel energy moving in the bodies of men who were raping me at the time. The trees taught me how to manipulate the men’s energy. That was very helpful to me as I was far less badly treated than other young girls who happened to be present at the same venue because I “knew what to do… how to act” to bring on an orgasm quickly and easily.
It may very well be that the part of the brain called the sylvian fissure which brings up visions and things of that nature is just far more active in me than it is in other people. I don’t know; I can’t say. What I do know is that I have often had — and still do have –access to information/vibrations that probably most people don’t. Word gets around when you can do those kinds of things and so, at the point when it seemed like every other person I bumped into knew about my unusual gifts, it also seemed as if I might be able to make a living at using them but if I were to do that, I felt, I needed certifications of some sort There might be laws… I just didn’t know. So, just in case, I got a bunch. I also took classes from an Interfaith Seminary for a few years and was ordained. All so I could feel comfortable sharing my gifts with a world that mostly doesn’t know what to make of them. I was, in a way, hiding in plain sight.
What I believe is behind all these diverse abilities/gifts is the divinity of Life… I also believe that everything on the earth is alive. What I believe is that the Earth itself is a creative force. I believe in Energy and Vibration. I believe that everybody has access to the same level of consciousness/energy/vibration that I have access to but they never get a chance to find out because every-day humanity tends to suppress a working knowledge of that. It was less than 150 years ago in America that the last witch was executed. Nowadays we call those same sorts of people herbalists.
Certainly, this kind of knowledge could be used in a negative fashion — and has been. But because energy is vibrational, a person mis-using this kind of knowledge is also affected simply by using it and, as the saying goes, worse comes to worse. One way or another — in this lifetime or some other — we reap what we have sown. If you project out negative vibrations, you can count on a negative reverberation at some point.
Can I “prove” any of this? Can anybody prove anything that is felt? Or simply ‘known’? I have known most of what I know and use since childhood and all I can know is that I know what I know and what I know is based on what I have lived and what I have experienced. Since my world is “me”-based, just as your world is “you”-based, I don’t have to prove anything to anybody else. As the song says,“I know what I know, if y’know what I mean.” I live in my world and it has worked for me as well as for the many folks I’ve assisted throughout the years by way of my gifts. In fact, my life has been rather remarkable so far.
I respect that each person in the world may have their own version of what “spirituality” is and that seems correct to me because each of us is very different and each of us has a very different relationship with the world, even, sometimes, with what some call “reality”… and yet, all of us are also similar… if you cut us, we bleed. If you starve us, we die. Respect is key to living on Earth… and respect for the Earth has to come first, for without a functional, fruitful Earth we are no more. Thus it is that I have pledged, since childhood, my allegiance, in full integrity, to the Earth from which all life comes.
